HPV

I am older than 14. Is it still worth getting vaccinated?

HPV is sexually transmitted. To be protected, it is best to be vaccinated before becoming sexually active.

Vaccination against HPV is effective when its administered before a person is infected.

The World Health Organization recommends that girls from 9 to13 years of age are vaccinated with 2 doses of HPV vaccines – the first or ‘zero’ dose is followed by a second dose 6 months later. For girls 14 years and older, 3 doses are recommended at 0, 2 months and 6 months.

Girls vaccinated at 14 years and older must receive three doses for full protection.
